Karma, intent, and will, Ramakrishna, and karma as a necessity *** |
The will and intent towards your highest perfection can undo the force and bondage of karma, for karma is a characteristic of the relative field- of cause and effect- whereas perfection lies only in the field of the absolute- the empty, eternal, conscious oneness of spirit and flesh. As long as you follow your highest path, no one can block the way ahead of you, for you are leading. I overcame much of the karma which did not suit me at the time through shear intent. And yet some of my karma had to be burnt away by God after I had learned a valuable lesson about having harmed others in the past, and knowing that their anger towards me was legitimate. But in the end I could not get rid of all of it, for the karmaless state is an evanescent, almost impossible energy to hold, because every kite needs some mooring. For as the great Hindu sage, Ramakrishna, stated- one must have at least a little karma in order to stay in this realm, in the body, without disappearing altogether.
There becomes an internal peace that is beyond and despite the external.
