The goat avatar of freedom

A goat raised with others to be slaughtered elected to escape to freedom, telling the others before he left that he would return in five years to speak of his freedom. During the next five years, generations of goats were raised and slaughtered, but kept on passing down the myth of the free goat who would return. After five years the free goat gave up his freedom, returned to his herd knowing he would also be slaughtered, and spoke to the others of what he had found, and how they too might attain their own freedom. Until this day all those who have heard have been freed from the herd.
