God, love, and relation

***

God is relation; God is not persons, nor things. Thus it is that we can say that God is Love, or God is the Father, or the Mother, for all these terms are relational terms; they require relation, and have no existence unto themselves. We can also say that God is unknowable because only particularities can be ‘identified’ and therefore ‘known’. Relation, in toto, cannot be known, only felt, for it is the sublime continuity which glues the unseparate particularities of the contiguous manifest together. Hence Oneness exists sub specie aeternitatis (under the aspect of eternity). That is the relation of Love called God.
