Insanity, makeup, nose-jobs, body hate, computers, and the Raja Vidya

***

If you judged your insanity by the innocuous images people front to others, then insane you would be. Misrepresentation, it seems, is a disease of private culture. For the best-face appears in public, and leaves the contorted visage at home, in the sanctuarial hell of privacy.

Makeup, haircuts, nose-jobs, combs, clothes, and tweezers are anger. How much do people hate their bodies for not being the Platonic models we pretend to be?

Anyone who has suffered a power failure while working on a computer knows that in fact you can get nothing from something.

from the Raja Vidya- the King of Knowledge: "Only the foolish try to adjust to this world; the real problem is how to get out of it."
