Lilith poem: first wife of Adam, feminine archetype: fine art nude photography

excerpted from HER: the sacred naked mother earth, and the divine feminine soul, by Jack Haas

From out of the land of legend

Into the orb of our day

She comes singing us to the place

Of beginnings

The Whispering sound of wind

Winds its way down the spiraling

Leaf curling ways of the cochlea

Along the fine highwire fields

In our listening ear, she

Buds her way up through the bark

Of earth’s story, her body

Wet as early dawn

Lilith

Lithe and lilting ululation

Human and free

Spoken into existence

By God’s own word

And moored forever in the harbor

Of the inner sea.[i]
